FIRST WEEK OF INTERNSHIP (9/11/16-11/11/16)

I always used to think that everything that has happened in my life were normalized. I had a hobby since childhood about thinking about my likes and dislikes on things. Today being a Saturday, and having a tight schedule on my works and family matters, I borrowed some time of my own to upload some small piece of my thoughts over the last three days of my internship. It was exciting. I remember the day I wished I could go back to my college. I hated to miss my friends. The school I had to go instead was girls only, and that thought inspired me. My experience with teaching the boys in the last phase was horrible but excellent toward the end of that phase. Like I said, I always had things normalized in life. Initially I used to hate doing things, but towards the end I loved doing it. It was the same here. I wished to go back home since morning on Wednesday, not getting used to new school, teachers, environment and teaching practice. I didn't get time to sit on my place till evening. I had to monitor 5th std to 9th std. I taught crafts in 5th std and the girls were really cooperating. In the higher classes, I had to put my total effort to maintain them in silence. Some were practicing drama and dance for the arts festival and others doing their own work. I helped them in everything as possible as I can. I introduced myself in 9th std today, where I had to start teaching the next day on wards. The obedience and response from the students made me happy and I planned to prepare well.
Everything seemed to fall in places on Thursday. Head Mistress has asked us to stay till 5.30 pm if required. I agreed to it since my house was nearby and there was no no problem at home. We went to serve food in the afternoon. But the teachers has asked us to watch how it is done and start serving from the next day on wards. In the morning session I taught the 8th std students about the spherical mirrors. Everything went well as I thought it would be.They already had a background knowledge about the topic, which helped me a lot. I didn't waste time talking to students. But let them introduce them whenever I asked questions. I got my last hour in 9th std class today, which was just 30 minutes duration. But I managed time by showing them video in the smart class room. And explained everything that I know about acid rain and related. They seemed very interesting even though it was the end of the school hour and everyone were tired. I realized how a visual can influence students and how their attention can be captured.  Students are ready to sit in any class if they are provided with some curiosity and if they get a chance to play a role of their own, rather than simply listening lectures. I learned to use the interactive white board myself. I planned to include extra knowledge to every lesson I teach from now on. Yesterday was a half working day. I didn't get a single period to teach or monitor the classes. A camp was running on the checking of eye sight. It was organized by the Lions Club. It was the first day I attended an assembly from this school. Many prizes were distributed in the assembly and I found out that it was for painting competition. There are plenty of painters here!! I felt excited knowing that. I thought to include painting strategy on teaching. I spent my time writing lesson plans for the next week. Hoping it would be good the next week also.
